미디어 파사드 - 기억의 바다
"기억의 바다"는 장사상륙작전에 자원해 참전한 718명의 학도병들의 숭고한 희생을 기리기 위해 제작된 미디어 파사드 작품입니다.
작품은 바다 속을 배경으로, 그들의 희생이 생명으로 이어지는 과정을 시적으로 표현하고 있습니다.
전쟁으로 황폐해진 바닷속에 군화, 소총, 학생모 등 학도병을 상징하는 오브젝트들이 천천히 가라앉으며, 그 자리에서 꽃이 피어나 생명의 시작을 알립니다.

이후 그들이 머물던 곳을 중심으로 아름다운 산호와 식생들이 자라나며, 바다는 점차 생명력으로 가득한 공간으로 변화합니다.
이어 학도병을 상징하는 범고래가 등장해 수중 속을 자유롭게 유영하고, 다양한 해양 생물들이 함께 어우러지며 평화와 기억의 메시지를 전합니다.
밤이 찾아오면 바닷속의 모든 생명들이 밝게 빛나며, 그들의 희생을 통해 피어난 생명의 에너지가 공간 전체를 따뜻하게 비춥니다.

Media Facade “Sea of Memory”
“Sea of Memory” is a media facade created to commemorate the Jangsa Landing Operation and the 718 student soldiers who volunteered and sacrificed their lives during the mission.
Set beneath the sea, the work visualizes the precious meaning of their sacrifice through a poetic underwater journey.
Amid the once war-torn ocean floor, symbolic objects such as military boots, rifles, and student caps slowly drift down — each blooming with flowers that represent life born from loss.
From these resting places, vibrant corals and marine vegetation begin to grow, filling the deep sea with signs of new life.

Venue : The Historic Munsan-ho (LST, Landing Ship Tank)
This version starts with the unique aspect of the venue to immediately draw the audience in.
The exhibition space for this project is not just a room, but the actual interior of the restored Korean War vessel, the Munsan-ho. This ship is the centerpiece of the Jangsa Landing Operation Victory Memorial Hall.
The Munsan-ho was deployed in 1950 as part of a crucial diversionary mission to ensure the success of the main Incheon Landing Operation.
It ran aground on the coast of Jangsa-ri and was later salvaged in 1997, then meticulously restored to its original form.
